Overview

Vital Swap set out to offer a seamless financial platform for families with connections across the diaspora, but struggled with key adoption barriers. New users faced a complicated onboarding process, while poor in-app usability led to low transaction completion and weak retention. Additionally, the brand lacked clarity and trustworthiness. These challenges limited the platform’s growth and ability to support core use cases like cross-border money transfers, tuition payments, P2P currency exchange, virtual dollar cards, and bill payments.

Solution & Result

I led the end-to-end transformation of Vitalswap’s platform, introducing a secure peer-to-peer marketplace that allowed users to exchange currency directly with verified exchangers—bypassing traditional banks to access better rates. To build trust, we implemented strict verification measures, including business licenses and government certifications.

Alongside this, I overhauled the platform’s UI/UX across mobile and web. We simplified the onboarding process, optimised core transaction flows, and redesigned the interface for clarity and ease of use. Key feature enhancements included a virtual dollar card for global payments, seamless tuition payments, and integrated bill payments—positioning Vitalswap as an all-in-one financial solution for cross-border users.
